G-Flute Challenges Solid Board/E-Flute Combinations
The "G-Flute" Way: Neff Packaging Solutions prints offset direct onto GrafXflüt sheets. The new single-unit GrafXflüt package enables National Latex Products to reduce its balloon kit packaging and handling costs compared to its previous packaging process which involved an E-flute insert. GrafXflüt eliminates the time and resources required to incorporate an insert.

Robert Neff, president, Neff Packaging Solutions, says GrafXflüt provides strength and print surface characteristics that make it an ideal alternative to E-flute insert applications as well as a variety of other offset direct print packaging and POP applications.

"The exciting notion about GrafXflüt is all the things we know it can
and will do to improve our customer's packaging programs, saving time
and perhaps money, while helping them stay competitive."
-- Robert Neff, president, Neff Packaging Solutions

The Old Way: A common packaging option, the balloon kits were previously constructed from 24 point clay coated news back which was offset printed and combined with an E-Flute insert for strength. Not only did this two-step process involve double the work and time for shipping and handling, the long, flat design of the box made it difficult for secondary operations to insert the E-Flute sheet.
